MIDNIGHT TANGO Aldwych Theatre

Vincent Simone and Flavia Cacace, champion dancers, best known to the public through the BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing have brought their touring show briefly to the West End. It is fascinating to watch the dazzlingly footwork, the criss-crossing, interweaving legs and the fast and the highly dangerous kicks between the dancer’s legs; but the production doesn’t go anywhere. There is no characterisation, no drama; no variety, no development; nothing risqué, nothing seedy; no smouldering eroticism, no murder; it’s all too sanitized; and the humour is abysmal.
