THE LION, THE WITCH AND THE WARDROBE Threesixty Theatre, Kensington Gardens

If you are looking for something to take young children to this summer then War Horse, Matilda, The Lion King and Wicked are the priority. Rupert Goold’s disappointing adaptation of C S Lewis’s children’s classic concentrates on spectacle rather than story and characterisation and is not in their league. The star attraction is the puppet-created Aslan, the lion (voiced by David Suchet), whose lurid killing calculatedly recalls the crucifixion of Christ.
